One truly spectacular sequence aside, this ill-conceived action film “starring” active duty Navy SEALs is tone deaf: never deciding whether it wants to bask in the awesomeness that is the SEALs or wallow in solemnness over the perils of war.

I absolutely adored this movie and already consider it a personal favorite, however when asked if I’d recommend it to the population at large I’d lean towards no because the level of violence may turn away female viewers looking for a standard rom-com and the romance may turn away male viewers looking for a standard action flick.
