Cate Blanchett turns in an Academy Award worthy performance as a woman living in the wake of losing her husband (and lifestyle) after he’s arrested for white collar crime.
I adore Cate Blanchett in this. Even with a bare face and depressing Jasmine frown lines, she was still very beautiful to watch. Sally Hawkins is also amazing as a San Franciscan. The flashbacks were confusing though. There should’ve been a change in the color or ambience when the New York flashbacks happen. The warm tones were perfect for the San Francisco shots. Perhaps the Manhattan flashbacks should have been in cooler tones to differentiate the past from the present.
Should I Go See It?
